USA Archery Level 3 NTS Coach Certification
PRACTICAL COURSE

Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

You MUST complete the USA Archery Level 3 Online Training before attending this course.

The USA Archery Level 3 NTS Coach Certification introduces a new curriculum, coaching tools, and coaching methodology to add to the existing education on developing the next level of archer and developing your coach skills.

The Level 3 NTS Coach Certification Course moves away from a group instruction and focuses on individual athlete development.  Students in the Level 3 NTS Coach Certification Course will be introduced to the following principles:

• The Learning Process
• Coaching Methods for Improved Motor Learning
• Correction & Feedback Methods
• The National Training System (NTS)
• NTS for Recurve
• NTS for Compound
• The Mental Process
• Movement Analyses

• Practice Session Planning, Execution, & Design
• Athlete Development
• Coaching Philosophy
• Coach Development 

PREREQUISITES

Minimum age is 19

Must hold a current Level 2 Instructor certification for a period of one year, OR

Pass the Level 3 Test-In exam AND

Verify 3 years of documented archery instructor experience.

Certification Requirements

Membership to USA Archery*, National Field Archery Association (NFAA) or Archery Shooters Association (ASA)

USA Archery Background Screening

SafeSport training

Note: Mental Management 101/102 are no longer a requirement

* A USA Archery Temporary, Recreational, and/or Youth Membership will not satisfy the membership requirement.

CERTIFICATION PERIOD

Three years from the date of course completion.

Benefits

Qualified to be the lead Instructor for an Explore Archery program, JOAD, Adult Archery Program and/or Collegiate Archery Program Club**

Eligible to receive USA Archery insurance coverage. 

IMPORTANT - RECOMMENDATION FROM COACH LYNDA 

Ensure you have adequate time to complete the online portion via Sport 80 (link will be emailed after registration).

The online portion is 8 hours. To ensure solid comprehension of the new materials, it is recommended to allow longer, if possible.

Make notes as you go through the online course to refer back to and to help commit key points to memory.

L3 is an intensive course. Be prepared to clear your mind and be able to focus on learning.

Lynda Whitehead is an experienced coach trainer who has certified hundreds of instructors and coaches. Lynda's venue, X10 Archery Academy, is an established, non-profit archery education facility where you will have the opportunity to learn much more about coaching and the archery world than is on the curriculum. You will have access to experienced bow techs, and Lynda's knowledge of and experience in running archery programs. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the ATA backed Success Program that Lynda offers to pro-shops.
