Beginner Camp

June 8-11

June 22-25
with Coach Kat Stiegel


All are welcome at Beginning Archery. Students of the Beginner's Camp will embark on their archery adventure. Coach Kat will guide them through safety, basic shooting techniques, scoring, and competition. Most importantly, beginning archers will learn to have fun while growing their skills.


  • Graduates of the Beginning Archery Camp may be eligible to attend the Intermediate Camp.


Intermediate Camp
July 13-17
With Coach Jennifer Schneider


Graduates of Begining Archery, current X10 Academy Students, and approved archers from other Houston Area Clubs are welcome to attend the Intermediate Archery Camp. Coach Jennifer will introduce archers to advanced shooting techniques, basic maintenance and repair of recurve bows, and improve their competitive skills. Each day Archers will shoot a 30 arrow score to track their progress and up their game.


  • Graduates of the Intermediate Archery Camp may be invited to attend Advanced Camp.


Advanced Camp

With X10 Academy Director, Coach Jennifer Schnieder


Train like an Olympian with Coach Jennifer. Advanced archers will train like Resident Athletes at the Olympic Training Center. Archers will refine their shooting technique, learn about goal setting, mental management, competition strategies, develop training plans and advanced equipment skills. Advanced Archery Camp will challenge students to achieve their goals and become better archers.


Graduates of Intermediate Archery Camp, X10 Academy Students, and archers from other Houston Area Clubs may apply to attend the Advanced Archery Camp. 


Applicants are required to have minimum qualifying scores:

Barebow: JOAD Black Pin - 140 Points at 18 meters (60cm Target)

Olympic Recurve: JOAD Black Pin - 150 Points at 18 meters (60cm Target)


Explore Bow Hunting Camp

June 29th - July 2nd
July 20th - 23rd
August 10th - 13th
August 24th - 27th
With Coach John Williams


Attendees will have an enjoyable adventure with Coach John. They will learn basic hunter safety, hunting with different types of bows, and learn to have a successful hunting experience. Coach John will teach attendees about the native Texas game, shot placement, stalking, and effective use of camouflage. Archers will also learn about 3D and Field Archery.



  • All archers of hunting age are welcome.


Meet the Coaches!

John Williams:

John competed Olympic recurve in the UK for 10 years and shoots competitive 3D, with over 15 years experience in the industry as a professional tech and coach. He specializes in Olympic recurve and compound instruction, including 3D Archery instruction. Along with being a bowyer, his specialties are tuning, bow tech work, fletching, and string building.


Jennifer Schneider:

X10 Academy Director Coach Jennifer is an accomplished archer, competitor, and coach. Jennifer has competed and won at all levels. She has been a member of the US Indoor World Championship and World Cup Teams. Coach Jennifer is passionate about helping archers reach their full potential. Her primary focus is to help students identify goals, areas for improvement and build on their strengths. Having trained at the Olympic Training Center, Coach Jennifer is well prepared to teach Advanced Students the tools they need to be successful.


Kat Steigel:

Coach Kat enjoys working with students of all ages; she specializes in connecting with younger archers. Kat is an experienced recurve and compound shooter. She has won multiple national titles with the Texas A&M Archery Team, both as an archer and a coach. Kat's effervescent personality and unending patience make her the perfect coach for our Beginning Archery Students.
